You Heard It From Manchester Vacs first: The Sebo SoftCase BP60 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

Sebo, the German manufacturer of high-quality vacuum cleaners, is planning the launch of its long-awaited new cordless vacuum cleaner later this year.
This machine has been under development for some time in Germany, there have been rumours in the trade last few years that one was in the pipeline.
The Sebo SoftCase BP, as it is called, is a powerful and lightweight upright cordless vacuum aimed initially at the cleaning trade that is powered by a battery (we assume BP means battery power but it could equally mean something obscure in German).
Sebo recently exhibited at the Interclean trade show in Amsterdam. The Sebo team was displaying their best-selling and latest products and speaking with customers from all over the world. The exhibit at Interclean featured something we haven’t seen before.
Below on the right is the MD of Sebo Holland at the show, and what’s that he is leaning on?
Let’s take a closer look…….
That is the forthcoming Sebo SoftPower BP60 cordless vacuum cleaner. The one pictured here is said to be an early prototype.
We haven’t got many shots of it yet, and despite it being exhibited in Amsterdam, Sebo are staying a bit tight-lipped about it for now.
Here’s a shot of it on the stand in Amsterdam.
Let’s zoom in on that a little.
So here’s what we know up to now about the Sebo SoftCase BP60 cordless vacuum cleaner:
It’s cordless (of course), it has a manual height adjustment dial on one side and a foot-operated power switch on the other side (similar to the ones on the Evolution range). On the side, one can see the battery indicator LED lights too.
It’s a bagged machine like all Sebos, and the outer bag casing is soft, which is why it is called the SoftCase BP60 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner.
From what we can see, the design is loosely similar to the American Maytag machines (sold in Europe as Truvox Valet) like the ones in our shop here below.
But of course, all the actual design and technology within will be Sebo’s. The Sebo SoftCase BP60 isn’t likely to be a rebadged Maytag or Truvox. Sebo is not known for badge engineering in that way.
We have been waiting a long time for Sebo to launch a cordless model, it’s something customers ask about often. And it looks like the Sebo cordless vacuum cleaner is finally here, and we hope it will have been well worth the wait.
