Powercare used to be the vacuum cleaner shop based on Seamon’s Road in Altrincham and specialised in the sales, service, repair, and maintenance of floor care equipment.
They supplied all types of cleaning machines including domestic and commercial vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, commercial steam cleaners, industrial ride-on machines, and carpet cleaners.
They were also the local Sebo vacuum dealer in Altrincham.
When the owners decided to close the business several years ago, the business name and numbers were sold to Shorrock Trichem in Atherton, a company that does floor scrubbers, washroom products, industrial washing machines and catering disposables. Sebo vacuums, spares and repairs feature nowhere on their website.
Shorrock Trichem has recently been bought out by Diversey, another large company. The company in fact behind brands such as Diversey Taski vacuums (which are rebadged Sebos for more money than a Sebo).
The only other place you can find the Powercare name is the Karcher Centre Powercare business in Leigh, owned by the same Diversey cleaning supply company. They do Karcher pressure washers and other Karcher machines. That location will be closing in August 2022 and moving back to the head office in Atherton.
So if you were wondering what happened to Powercare in Altrincham, now you know.
If you’re looking for Sebo vacuum spares, bags, a new Sebo vacuum cleaner or a repair to your Sebo, Powercare (or rather, the company that owns the name) doesn’t seem to be the business you are looking for now. Certainly not if you are anywhere near Altrincham.
So it’s a good job we’re not that far away!
